C.C.C

The Clapton Country Club is a storybook of an interior, built from reclaimed and recycled materials that were skip-surfed and pavement-plundered to be up-cycled to the most dramatic effect. The unique interiors of this space create an urban retreat in the heart of East London. Rife with the building’s heritage as a tram shed and retaining its industrial finesse, it literally oozes ambience and ‘wow’.

There is something Orwellian about the name ‘Department of Life’ and this overflows to the feel of its interior space, a space constructed or formed from subterranean materials of steel, iron, wood, slate, stone, marble, copper, glass and botany…. it’s nature and industry forming a disenfranchised bond.

The Tram Store is set on the old Clapton Tram Depot. Presenting an outside-in interior with giant botany and trailing plants set against centuries old beams, parquetry flooring and distressed brickwork. Our ethos is quality, style and conscience. Coffee, food, wine, beers produce and products as local as we can source, with limited waste, organic, biodynamic and delicious as is possible. We are a cafe, a bar, a store and can be hired for discerning small events or for film location use
